Cookie

Drawing a group of hugely oversized cookie-filled chocolates gives you a feeling that you’re in the world of “Honey, I shrunk the kids,” a popular movie from 1989. Made by Klik, an Israeli company, (Israel’s 2nd leading chocolate brand) and certified kosher, the chocolates are ubiquitous in Jewish stores across the States. Drawing the chocolate shapes, with reflective highlights, subtle imperfections and soft gradient shadows helps create a feeling of reality. The bright “flash” in the center of the pack draws your eye toward the middle of the piece and encourages your eye to move outward from there. The two-tone reds also create a mesmerizing pattern that would attract attention in any environment.

Printed from the highest resolution scans, all prints are museum quality, using the Giclee fine art process on Epson Legacy cold press (19ml), a bright white, lightly textured, acid-free, archival paper.

“Colored pencils have traditionally gotten a raw deal. Today, however, the vast range of available pencil colors, the vibrance of each pigment and ease of color blending has taken them out of the kindergarten and into the fine art world.”
